Salus™
Salus™ is a family of displacement/combinatorial therapies that modulate drug-HSA interactions based on data and the related methodologies developed under the CADEX™ program.
The ultimate benefit of this product family is to exploit the binding characteristics of various drugs with HSA, one of the most important blood proteins, in order to "tune" the pharmacokinetics of those drugs and improve their safety and efficacy.
With regard to new and existing FDA-approved drugs, Salus™ may hold several important benefits for pharmaceutical companies, including (1) increasing efficacy, (2) improving tolerance, (3) increasing safety, and (4) extending their intellectual property.
This therapeutic drug displacement approach is based on the precise identification of the
interaction between HSA and the drug and the careful selection of displacing agents
(including FDA-approved agents) with the desired modulating attributes.
The Company has, in its first applications, focused on combining Salus™ technology with known anti-cancer agents to reduce toxicity and improve efficacy.
